Hope for Treatment-Resistant Depression

We are now offering Spravato (esketamine) treatments at our Mt. Pleasant location of Family Health Psychiatric & Counseling Center.

What is Spravato?

Spravato is a cutting-edge option for individuals struggling with treatment-resistant depression and acute suicidal ideation. Unlike some traditional medications, Spravato has been shown to be more effective in certain cases without the risk of side effects like weight gain, diabetes, and metabolic syndrome—factors that can contribute to heart disease.

Spravato works differently from standard antidepressants, offering a new mechanism of action that can lead to a rapid antidepressant response. Treatment begins with twice-weekly sessions for four weeks, followed by weekly or biweekly maintenance treatments as needed. It is administered via nasal inhalation in our office and requires two hours of medical monitoring before you can be discharged. To ensure safety, you will need a ride home and cannot drive until the following day.

We strive to provide a comfortable and supportive treatment experience, with dedicated private rooms and a compassionate team to guide you through the process. If you’ve struggled to find relief with other treatments, Spravato may be the breakthrough you’ve been searching for.

Most insurances cover Spravato treatments!
